Go, Grant Geckos!

A big Razor shout-out to the students of Grant Elementary School in Santa Monica, CA! More than 600 students in grades pre-K through 5 participated in a school-wide, fitness-focused fundraiser last month, walking, running, and even skipping around the school’s track.

A student-based fundraiser, the Grant Jog-a-Thon raises money to support school programs including purchasing new technology, field trips, books, beautification projects, and more. In addition to promoting physical fitness, a subject near and dear to Razor’s heart, the event encourages teamwork by asking classes to work together to raise money for the school.

The big day included rockin’ jams spun by parent DJs, a warm-up run by PrimeTime Fitness, Principal Fuhrer as emcee, parent lap-trackers, and delicious donations, including fresh fruit from Trader Joe’s and ice-cold popsicles from Bob’s Market.

In addition, each participant received a Jog-a-Thon tee shirt, PrimeTime sportpack stuffed with local swag, and raffle tickets for a variety of prizes, just for participating in the event.

Raffle prizes included free Karate and parkour classes, climbing sessions, surf lessons, and more. And Razor was happy to help motivate these students to get up and get moving, providing six Spark Scooters awarded to random raffle contest winners like Kindergartner Sammy Waterstone! Go, Geckos Go!
